Friday, 7.00 pm. A large party in matching lanyards arrived on Lake Street: fourteen people, too many for any one room. The Possession takes eight at most and The Haunting twelve, so staff divided them, and both doors shut at the same moment, one group behind each.
Observation. The group sent into The Possession had the house to themselves: sessions are private, so it was them, the entity and nobody else. They came out very quiet. One sat on the kerb with his tie loosened and said, ‘I need to ring my mum.’
The other half came out of The Haunting shrieking with delight and asked how theirs had gone. ‘Fine,’ they said. It was not fine. I wrote NOT FINE in capitals.
Staff mentioned a team that organises big groups and work events across several rooms at once. I asked whether they also organise investigations. They do not.
