Friday, 4.00 pm. Christmas shopping. I have bought Noreen a gift voucher from the Escape This website, printed it and folded it into a card with a ghost on the front. She can spend it on The Possession in Perth, Sydney or Melbourne, or, more sensibly, on the first room.
It is the perfect present. Noreen will go in and report back, and at last I will have a first-hand account from a witness I trust, unlike the seagull.
Complication: my nephew, who is thirteen, wanted one too. Staff confirmed there is no way round it. Every player must be fifteen or over, ID may be checked, and children cannot even come in to watch. He said it was so unfair. I told him the entity has waited a great deal longer than two years for anything.
6.30 pm. Noreen opened the card early, as she does. She said thank you, and then she said, ‘You’re coming with me.’ I said I would be outside, monitoring. She said we would see. I have filed the remark under Threats.
