The Melbourne Age Question

In short: The investigator answers his mail. Escape This’s booking system sets The Possession at 15+ in Melbourne CBD, as in Perth and Sydney, but parts of the Melbourne page still say 16+, so families of 15-year-olds should ring (03) 7078 8118 first.

Friday, 11.00 am. Correspondence. A family in Melbourne has written to the Society, which is to say to me, asking whether their son, just turned fifteen, may enter The Possession on Collins Street. I was honoured. Nobody ever asks the Society anything.

Findings. The booking system says fifteen and over, in Melbourne as in Perth and Sydney. Parts of the Melbourne web page, however, say sixteen. Two answers on record. In my field this is called a discrepancy, and it is the only kind of thing I am ever certain of.

My advice, by return of post: ring the Collins Street team before booking and have them confirm a fifteen-year-old will be let in. Bring ID either way. Staff do check.

The family wrote back to thank me, and to ask whether I am a real paranormal investigator. I have not replied. It is a complicated question.
