Friday, 7.30 pm. Unexpected development: I am becoming a source. Teams waiting to go into The Possession have begun asking me questions, presumably because I am always here and look official in the hat.

Question one, from a woman expecting her first child: which house should she choose? Answer, checked with staff: Northbridge or Sydney, which have no crawling and no tight squeezes. Not Melbourne, which has both. And mention the smoke when booking.

Question two, from a man who dislikes small spaces: much the same. Perth and Sydney are listed as a fair choice for the claustrophobic, though any room may have a close moment. Melbourne’s crawl is not for him.

Question three, from a teenager: was I a ghost? No. Question four, from his friend: was I sure? I am taking a week to think it over.
